QC NATIONAL ARCHERY IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM
QCISD had a team of 15 students qualify to compete in the NASP State Tournament in Belton, TX on Mar 23-24.

These students traveled to Belton with Coaches Hudson and Allen, and with sponsors Mrs. Henderson, Mr. Estes and Mr. Holmes.  There were 2021 total students (4th-12 grade) competing at the State level.  22 Elementary teams (which is where ours competed), 34 middle school teams and 47 high school teams.  As you can see, the competition will increase as the kids gets older. The archers shoot with archers of all age groups.  For example, Clint's shooting partner was a high school girl, Brayden's was a high school boy and Micah's was middle school girl.  Our elementary team ranked 13 out of 22, with a total shooting score of 2579.  2649 would have qualified them all for the National Tournament in Louisville, KY.  They were only 70 points away.  Pretty exceptional for a 1st year team!

Clint Wiley was the top scorer for our team, with a 261 out of a possible 300.  He also ranked 9th out of 270 elementary boys, which does qualify him for Nationals.

We will be traveling to Louisville, KY for him to compete on May 12.
