Welcome to our middle school band page.

The Queen City Middle School band consists each year of sixty to seventy 7th and 8th grade students.  They perform during 8th grade football games and compete in UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest.  Many middle school band students also audition for All-Region band and compete in Solo/Ensemble competitions.  They also compete in many invitational contests in the northeast Texas and Dallas area.

The middle school band consistently earns First Division ratings and Sweepstakes awards at UIL contests and consistently places high in TMEA Honor Band competition and the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series.

Students who choose band, with the help of band directors, select their instrument at the end of 5th grade, and they begin learning their instrument in 6th grade.  While in Beginner Band, they perform in a Christmas and Spring concert each year.  They also have the opportunity to perform in one band contest and one Solo/Ensemble competition.

MUMS Symphonic Band (7th and 8th grade band members) performed at the Region IV UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation at Pleasant Grove HS.

They earned a 1st division from all three judges, in both Concert and in Sight-reading, earning the coveted "UIL Sweepstakes Award". This is the highest honor our middle school band can receive at this level, and marks back-to-back sweepstakes for MUMS for the first time, since 2013!

In addition, Queen City was one of only four schools all day to receive the sweepstakes award.

When you see our band kids give them a congrats, they put in some great work this year! As always, it's a great day to be a bulldog!
